Titans adds Red Hood, Scarecrow & Barbara Gordon for a Gotham road trip for Season 3
Who are the Titans facing next when they return for the third season? One of their own.
Jason, if you’ll recall, left the Titans at the end of the second season. Thanks to the manipulations of Deathstroke, the team ostracized him. That, plus breaking up with Rose Wilson and very nearly dying, has led to the teen taking up the mantle of the Red Hood.
Jason’s transformation requires the Titans to take a road trip from San Francisco over to Gotham, which means more characters from the Batman mythos will be joining the show. Jonathan Crane, aka the fear-mongering Scarecrow, will be a part of the story, moonlighting as a profiler for the GCPD while also serving time in Arkham Asylum.
Also joining the series will be Barbara Gordon, as we learned back in April. But she won't be taking on her Batgirl persona -- in fact, she's stepped into a new role entirely as Commissioner. Neither has currently been cast. Between her and Dick, the season will tell a story of the "second generation coming up," according to Walker. "We have Nightwing and Barbara Gordon trying to deal with the mistakes of their parents, and it turns out to be a lot more difficult than anybody thought."
The team may be heading to Gotham, but problems will still be coming to them in the form of Blackfire, Starfire's sister, as played by Damaris Lewis, who was teased at the end of Season 2. Harris, who’s been promoted to a series regular, admitted that villains are her favorite characters in movies, and she’s excited to see what happens between the two sisters.
The only question that remains is when Titans' third season will premiere. That remains to be seen, along with whether it'll be going to DC Universe or HBO Max when it does.
