TV THIS WEEK: The Super Bowl (commercials), new Flash, Deadly Class, The Passage and more
The big story on TV this week isn't exactly genre, but it should still be of interest for fans for another reason — the commercials. The Super Bowl is played this Sunday, and even if you're not pumped to find out who wins between the Patriots and Rams, the event should be loaded with teaser trailers and commercials for geeky stuff galore.
There's no official list, but we can make some guesses. Odds are solid we'll see footage from films like Shazam!, Aladdin, Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel, or Dark Phoenix. Outside of those, the commercials are typically full of high-concept, genre-friendly stuff anyway, so be sure to keep an eye out between all the football.
Aside from the Super Bowl, there's also plenty of new stuff this week. Arrow and The Flash are both new; Fox's The Passage and Gotham are fresh; SYFY has Deadly Class and The Magicians; and NBC has a new installment of twisty mystery Manifest. Plus a whole lot more, from alien romance immigration dramas (looking at you, Roswell, New Mexico), to the next flight of The Orville.
Check out our full rundown below and let us know what you'll be watching.
