The Witcher Season 2

It's a good thing folks typically get some off days around the holiday season, because there's plenty to stream in the month of December. From dark fantasies to fresh Star Wars and long-awaited film sequels, let's dig in.

Netflix is heading out the gate with a few major projects, including the second season of The Witcher, the fourth season of Cobra Kai, the final season of Lost in Space and the opening of the A-list film Don't Look Up. That's not even mentioning new episodes of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, and fan favorite sci-fi flicks like Looper and Final Destination 5.

Peacock has the debut of its new MacGruber action-comedy series, with Will Forte back in the title role. The streamer is also adding the entire first season of SYFY/USA hit Chucky, plus Sam Raimi's original Spider-Man trilogy to its catalog. Disney+ has the premiere of The Book of Boba Fett, along with the continued rollout of new episodes of Hawkeye.

Prime Video has the debut of the final season of The Expanse, and HBO Max has the dual streaming/theatrical premiere of The Matrix Resurrections. Paramount Plus is also adding several big movies, plus new episodes of Star Trek: Discovery.

Check out the full rundown below and let us know what you'll be streaming.

NETFLIX

The Witcher (Season 2): It's been a long wait, but the dark fantasy epic starring Henry Cavill is finally back with a brand new season. After last season's time-jumping confusion, this new batch of episodes promises to be a bit more of a straight-forward type of storytelling.

Don't Look Up: Another month, another Netflix original movie with an all-star cast. This time around it's the buzzy awards contender Don't Look Up starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, and directed by Adam McKay. The film follows two scientists who learn an asteroid is about to destroy the Earth. The only problem? Most everyone is too dumb or distracted to care about it.

Cobra Kai (Season 4): How will that team-up between Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso turn out? We finally get some answers as the bit Karate Kid continuation returns with a brand new season of crane kicks and teenage drama.

Lost in Space (Final Season): The sci-fi reimagining has been one of the best family-friendly sci-fi shows of the modern era, and that grand adventure is coming to an end. Will they make it to their new home? Back to their old home? Remain lost in space forever? Answers are coming.

Chucky (Season 1): The killer horror hit from SYFY/USA comes to Peacock with the entire first season now streaming. The series is a direct continuation of the Chucky film saga, telling the next chapter in the terrifying tale — with plenty of new (and old!) victims in the mix.

Spider-Man (Trilogy): Getting pumped for Spider-Man: No Way Home? This should help. The original Sam Raimi trilogy is coming to Peacock just in time for a primer binge of those early Spidey adventures.
