Hilary Duff puts a psychic spin on Manson murder in trailer for The Haunting of Sharon Tate

Sharon Tate was murdered by members of Charles Manson's "family" in 1969 — when the actor was pregnant, and two weeks away from giving birth. The tragic story is brutal, and will be the basis for Quentin Tarantino's next film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Before that film comes out, however, there will be a different take on the Tate story. The Haunting of Sharon Tate asks what if Sharon Tate was psychic, and had premonitions of the horrors awaiting her?

Hilary Duff (Lizzie McGuire, Gossip Girl) plays Tate in the upcoming film, which was written and directed by Daniel Farrands. Mean Girls actor Jonathan Bennett plays Jay Sebring, another victim of the Mansons who was murdered at the same time as Tate.

Take a look at a trailer for the new film, and decide if being haunted by future events makes the real-life murders even more horrifying:

The film will also star Lydia Hearst (Z Nation) as Abigail Folger, who was another Manson victim.

With or without psychic foresight, The Haunting of Sharon Tate will come to theaters and streaming platforms on April 5.
