Kat Coiro, a director known for helming episodes of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Shameless, has reportedly been tapped to oversee the pilot for Marvel's She-Hulk series coming to Disney+.

According to Deadline, Coiro is also attached as an executive producer and may end up directing several more episodes of the show, which is expected to follow Bruce Banner's Hulked-out cousin, Jessica Walters. In the comics, Walters (created by Stan Lee and John Buscema) got her own Gamma-related powers from a blood transfusion she received from Bruce.

Jessica Gao (of Adult Swim's Rick and Morty) is the project's head writer. Based on a tweet from TV scribe Dana Schwartz in early May, the scripts are already completed. No casting announcements have been made yet, although Mark Ruffalo is in talks to reprise his MCU role as Bruce Banner.

Disney+ is also releasing Marvel Studios shows based on Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, What If...?, Scarlet Witch and Vision (WandaVision), Loki (Loki), and Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier).

Director Derrick Borte is following up his Russell Crowe-starring thriller Unhinged with a horror film entitled Black Forest, reports Deadline. Penned by Borte and Daniel Forte (American Dreamer), the project is said to revolve around a group of college students backpacking through Germany's famous Black Forest. Somehow, the characters find themselves transported back to the Middle Ages, where they become the targets of a deadly witch hunt by local villagers.

"This is a wonderful chance to sink my teeth into the contemporary horror genre," Borte said in a statement to Deadline.

Film Bridge International is handling worldwide sales, with Sofia Sondervan-Bild (Dutch Tilt Film), Scott F. Lochmus (Storyland Pictures), James Gibb (Balkanic Media), and Ellen Wander and Jordan Dykstra (both representing Film Bridge International) on board as producers.

"Black Forest is a clever, contemporary thriller like nothing we’ve seen before. Undoubtedly, we’re delighted to have the opportunity to work with a filmmaker like Borte," said Wander.

Don't Look Back, a new horror-thriller film from Final Destination creator Jeffrey Reddick, has set its U.S. debut via Kamikaze Dogfight and Gravitas Ventures. Deadline has confirmed that the movie, which marks Reddick's directorial debut, is scheduled to arrive in theaters and on demand Friday, Oct. 16 — the same day as Paramount's Love and Monsters.

Also written by Reddick, Don't Look Back sounds like a spiritual successor to the Final Destination series or Kevin Williamson's I Know What You Did Last Summer. Kourtney Bell leads the cast as Caitlin Kramer, a woman grappling with past trauma, who becomes one of several people to witness a fatal assault on an innocent man. When the witnesses start to meet macabre ends, Caitlin must learn if the group is being picked off by a mortal killer or something more sinister.

“As he did with Final Destination, Jeffrey has created a terrifying framework for his characters to meet a gruesome end, and in doing so issues a timely warning against standing idly by while others suffer," Tony Piantedosi, VP Acquisitions at Gravitas Ventures, said in a statement to Deadline.

"I’ve had the privilege of watching Jeffrey craft this masterpiece from the inside out," added Kamikaze Dogfight partner Han Soto. "Don’t Look Back is a testament to Jeffrey’s evolution as a creative mastermind. Under his cognizance of apathy and our lack of empathy as a species comes questions of anguish, remorse and behaving in a virtuous manner. This movie will affect you whether you want it to or not. Don’t Look Back is a movie made for everyone."

Bryan Batt, Will Stout, Skyler Hart, Jeremy Holm, Jaqueline Fleming, Amanda Grace Benitez, Damon Lipari, Dean J. West, Stephen Twardokus, and Soto make up the rest of the cast.
