First came Peter Parker and now comes Nathan Drake. Tom Holland is playing yet another iconic pop culture character in the first thrilling trailer for director Ruben Fleischer's live-action adaptation of Uncharted. The film serves as an origin story for the Naughty Dog-created adventurer, featuring Holland as a younger version of Drake than we see in the games.

Mark Wahlberg takes up the role of Nathan's cigar-chomping friend/mentor, Victor "Sully" Sullivan. The two join forces to track down an ancient treasure worth billions. Nathan's not just in it for the money; he also wants to find his long-lost brother. Sophia Ali rounds out our core group of heroes as fellow treasure hunter, Chloe Frazer.

"Trust me when I say you ain’t ready for this movie," Holland wrote on Instagram Thursday. "Mark Wahlberg and I are gonna take you a huge adventure."

Of course, this globe-trotting, Indiana Jones-style adventure would not be complete without a covetous villain willing to slit a few throats in order to get their hands on the golden prize. That baddie is played by Antonio Banderas and the character's family has apparently been chasing this fortune for a very long time.

Watch the trailer (set to Led Zeppelin’s “Ramble On”) below:

“I think there are elements of my performance in Uncharted where I kind of fell under that spell of being ‘I want to look good now. I want this to be my cool moment’…at times, it was less about land a mark and go through this scene and more about land a mark, stand like this and see my bulging biceps...it was a mistake and is something that I will probably never do again," Holland remarked earlier this year.

The cast also includes Chilling Adventures of Sabrina veteran, Tati Gabrielle.

Known for helming Zombieland and the first Venom, Fleischer was brought onto the project after a number of high-profile directors (including David O. Russell, Shawn Levy, Dan Trachtenberg, and even Laika co-founder Travis Knight) parted ways with the film.

Fleischer serves as an executive producer alongside Robert J. Dohrmann, David Bernad, Tom Holland, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, Neil Druckmann, Evan Wells, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway. Charles Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, and Ari Arad are producers.

Written by Rafe Judkins (currently the showrunner of Amazon's upcoming Wheel of Time series) and the duo of Marcum and Holloway (they helped pen 2008's Iron Man), Uncharted ventures into theaters everywhere on Feb. 18, 2022. Shortly after the trailer debuted online, Sony released a behind-the-scenes feature with Holland and Wahlberg. Check it out now:
