Avengers: Endgame LEGO sets tease souped-up War Machine, Hulk rematch with Thanos, more!

LEGO War Machine Buster

We're now only a few weeks away from the theatrical release of Avengers: Endgame, which means toy companies can now start releasing their tie-in products without giving too much away ahead of time.

One of those companies is LEGO, which on Monday unveiled its brand-spankin'-new sets that are inspired by the events and set pieces of the highly anticipated MCU film.

Lucky for you, we unpacked all five of them, so you don't have to. Let's go through them, their exciting details, and what they could mean in terms of plot, shall we?

Captain America: Outriders Attack

This set sees Cap reunited with the Outriders, the Xenomorph-looking aliens that the Black Order used during the Battle of Wakanda in Avengers: Infinity War. Cap, now clad in his crisp white uniform that we saw in the most recent trailers, also has a pretty nifty motorbike that shoots out blasts of energy at the Outriders. He's done playing around with hand-to-hand combat like he used against them on the Wakandan battlefield — it's time to get serious, folks!

War Machine Buster

OK, this is awesome. War Machine (once known as Iron Patriot) appears to be getting a souped-up armor suit (supposedly to go over his regular armor), which is highly reminiscent of the Hulkbuster that Tony donned in Avengers: Age of Ultron. In short, it's badass to the max and also reminds us of Obadiah Stane's Iron Monger suit from the original Iron Man.

Ant-Man and a few Outriders are also a part of this collection, but noticeably absent is Rocket Raccoon, whom we see standing on War Machine's shoulder in the latest trailer.

Missing media item.

Price: $34.99

Iron Man Hall of Armor

Will Tony be bringing in some robotic reinforcements like "Igor" when he gets back to Earth after floating around in space with Nebula? Hey, it worked against Aldrich Killian in Iron Man 3. It would certainly be fitting, too, taking us back to the semi-circular room/lab of Iron Man suits that really kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the first place.

Avengers Ultimate Quinjet

The original Quinjet was wrecked by Thor, Hulk, and Valkyrie in Ragnarok, so this must be the second, more improved version. After all, anything with "Ultimate" in its name cannot disappoint. In addition, you'll see that the set comes with two Chitauri soldiers, the alien species that make up Thanos' conquering army. We did see them in Infinity War, but the Avengers haven't really fought against them since their first movie.

Black Widow, Thor (now wielding Stormbreaker), Rocket, and Hawkeye (who will also be Ronin in Endgame) are the heroes in charge of the Quinjet and fight against the Chitauri — at least per this LEGO set.

Avengers Compound Battle

This is perhaps the one fans will be most excited about, mainly because it features a rematch between Hulk and Thanos right on the box! If you'll recall, both characters sparred on the Asgardian refugee vessel at the start of Infinity War. Thanos (Josh Brolin) won that round, but we're not so sure the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) is gonna be so forgiving the second time around. Following his refusal to join the fray in New York and then in Wakanda, he's definitely gonna give it his all.

The set also includes Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Nebula, and a stray Outrider. If it does correlate to the plot at all, it could subvert our expectations of the Avengers taking the fight to Thanos. Who knows, the Mad Titan could be fighting on their home turf in upstate New York.

Price: $99.99

Of course, it's anyone guess at this point how things will play out, especially after Joe Russo basically laughed at the idea of fans trying to extrapolate accurate plot details from toy sets.

"What's interesting about toy leaks is that 99 percent of the time they're not accurate because toys are, frankly, tailored to either old concepts or completely different concepts than what's in the movie," he said. "I laugh a lot when those toy leaks show up because I'm like, 'Great, that's a misdirect [for audiences]' because it has nothing to do with the film."

Directed by the Russo Brothers, Avengers: Endgame rolls into theaters on April 26. All of the LEGO sets above are now available for purchase in stores or online.

In the meantime, check out the photo gallery below for an in-depth look at each of the new sets.
