The year is ending with a bang when it comes to streaming, with OG services and upstarts all bringing plenty of A-list material to keep us warm this winter. From space sagas to fantasy epics, there's plenty to check out.

Netflix is absolutely loaded for December, with ambitious original series The Witcher (starring Henry Cavill) making its long-awaited debut. The service is also dropping Season 2 of the sci-fi adventure Lost in Space, plus the vampire thriller series V Wars. On the original film side, the Ryan Reynolds spy-fi-ish vehicle 6 Underground also debuts in December.

Amazon is taking a big swing with an acquired original, as the fourth season of the acclaimed sci-fi series The Expanse premieres. Hulu is bringing a treat for Marvel fans with the third and final season of The Runaways going live. The service will also have a double dose of its horror anthology Into the Dark

Looking to the newbies, Disney+ will have new episode of the Star Wars live-action series The Mandalorian, while Apple TV+ will be rolling out new installments of SEE, For All Mankind, and M. Night Shyamalan’s mysterious new scare-fest Servant. We’ve also spotlighted some horror classics coming to niche horror streamer Shudder for the month.

V Wars: This series looks to take an action spin on a vampire outbreak, focusing on its effects on society and how a world might cope with modern-day vampires. It's violent, bloody, and could make for a great winter binge.

The Witcher: It’s finally here. Netflix is bringing the beloved Witcher franchise to live action with A-lister Henry Cavill front and center. Early trailers and footage have looked gorgeous, and this could certainly be the breakout hit for Netflix this season.

6 Underground: Think Fast and Furious meets Mission: Impossible and you’ll have an inkling of what this Ryan Reynolds action vehicle directed by Michael Bay is bringing to the mix. We’d expect plenty of that trademark Deadpool-esque charm mixed in amongst the action scenes.

Lost in Space (Season 2): The first season of this largely family-friendly sci-fi adventure was a romp through a strange new world and dropped some major shake-ups in the finale that sets up a potentially darker arc for Season 2.

Apple’s streaming service still has plenty of new episodes left to roll out in December. Ongoing originals For All Mankind and SEE will continue, while newcomer Servant (which debuted on Thanksgiving) will also have new episodes coming throughout December. Servant is the buzzy M. Night Shyamalan horror series about a creepy baby doll and some much deeper mysteries around it.

There are plenty of horror classics joining the scare-focused streaming service this month, but arguably the most interesting highlight is Joe Bob's Red Christmas, which is a hosted "event" pulling together some cult classics to ring in the holiday season with a bit of blood.
