Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the popular animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender has found the actor to play the vicious Fire Lord Ozai. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daniel Dae Kim of Lost, the Divergent movies, and Hellboy fame will take on the role.

Fire Lord Ozai is a major antagonist in the animated series. The character is the father of Zuko, a firebender who initially is on his father’s side. Over the course of the show, Ozai attempts to rule the entire known world by harnessing the power of Sozin’s Comet to burn his foes to the ground. He ultimately faces off against the Avatar, Aang, in a memorable battle that you can check out below:

This isn’t the first time Kim has acted in the Avatar world. In The Legend of Korra, an animated series that takes place after the events of Airbender, Kim voiced Hiroshi Sato, a non-bending but very villainous character in the series.

In addition to Kim, the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender will star Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, and Dallas Liu as Zuko.  Initial creators of AvatarMichael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko — left the production last year, and the show is now helmed by Albert Kim. No news yet on when the show will make its way onto Netflix’s streaming service.
