Birds of Prey: Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn and more revealed in first tease video as production gets underway
This morning, we got our first look at Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn in the upcoming Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) from director Cathy Yan. The sneak peek comes courtesy of a behind-the-scenes video that provides a look not just at a daiquiri-drinking Quinn, but at all of the supporting characters, too.
Titled "See You Seen," the 20-second tease gives us short glimpses of Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco), Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), and Black Mask (Ewan McGregor).

Judging by the video, Harley's still rockin' the bleached hair look and the heart tattoo on her cheek. She's also got a confetti-clad jacket, a bone-shaped dog collar, and a neon tube top/tank top that recalls the 1980s. All of it is so cloyingly crazy and over-the-top, that it fits perfectly in line with the insanity of the character created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm.
Robbie also shared a look at her character in an Instagram post. "Miss me?" reads the caption, which also contaisn the lipstick kiss emoji and the letters "HQ."

Most likely set in Gotham City, the film finds Harley teaming up with a few other kick-ass females to protect young Cassandra Cain from the ruthless gangster known as Black Mask. While not part of the traditional Birds of Prey lineup, Quinn will be joined by veteran members like Huntress and Black Canary.
Ali Wong, Chris Messina, Derek Wilson, Matthew Willig, Charlene Amoia, and Robert Catrini co-star.
After Wonder Woman, this will be the second DCEU project to be directed by a woman. Yan was totally hooked once she read the script from Bumblebee's Christina Hodson and went into the pitch meeting with a unique sizzle reel of her own design.
"I went in [to the pitch meeting] with, not with confidence, but at least a sense that I belonged in the room, that somehow magically in terms of timing and luck that this opportunity was open to me and I was definitely going to make the best of it," she said back in October.
Birds of Prey opens in theaters February 7, 2020.
