Last year, Charmed star Madeleine Mantock announced she would not be returning for a fourth season of The CW series, leaving the series about three familial witches and their supernatural adventures with the third pillar in Charmed Ones trinity. Now, there's a new witch in town, and while she might not be family, she's an essential part of the Power of Three going forward.

Back in September, two months after Mantock announced her departure and her character, Macy Vaughn, was killed off in the Season 3 finale, Charmed showrunners announced that actress Lucy Barrett (Co-Ed) would join the series in Season 4 as a new Charmed One. What they didn't reveal was the character's connection to the remaining original two, how her powers would manifest, or even her name.

Now, the first teaser for the new season has arrived, and... well, we still don't know any of that information, but we do know that Barrett's character has already sensed connections to the Power of Three, and that Mel (Melonie Diaz) and Maggie (Sarah Jeffery) have managed to track her down. Check it out below:

Back in August, when Barrett was announced as the new Charmed One, here's what series showrunners Jeffery Lieber, Nicki Renna, and Joey Falco said about the character in a statement (via Entertainment Weekly):

"What we will say is… she's an artist, with a wild, unpredictable love for life and a one-of-a-kind view of the world that serves her well in her art, which is her life's passion. She's fun, irreverent, impulsive, strong-willed, and will bring a brand-new energy to the Power of Three."

We can already see the character's artistic background creeping into this teaser, but what remains to be seen is how exactly she's connected, if at all, to Mel and Maggie. In the previous Charmed series, when original cast member Shannen Doherty left the show, the series explained it away by revealing that the Halliwells actually had another half-sister, Paige (Rose McGowan), keeping the family connections alive. Here, though, the teaser seems to hint that Barrett is playing a person who might be a complete stranger than nevertheless is able to complete the Power of Three, adding another layer to the Charmed mythology.

But is that true? We'll know more when Charmed returns for its fourth season on March 11.
