Detective Pikachu hasn't been released yet, but the unlikely Pokemon investigator already has a new case in the works. Warner Bros. and Legendary (producers on the film) apparently like what they're seeing.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Legendary is "moving to develop a sequel" to the film, which doesn't open for another three months. Oren Uziel has been hired to write a script, having previously worked on 22 Jump Street, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Men in Black: International

The first film is directed by Rob Letterman (Goosebumps) and features Ryan Reynolds voicing the Pokemon-turned-detective. He's set to help a new friend (played by Justice Smith) find his father. There is no word yet as to what Detective Pikachu's new case will be, who will direct, or if Smith will be back in the mix. Though it is a safe bet that Reynolds will return to voice Pikachu, that is also uncertain. For all we know, the ending of the first movie could set up a franchise — perhaps Detective Pikachu trip will trip over Thor's hammer in a post-credit scene.

Detective Pikachu will beg you to catch all of the movie tickets possible on May 10.

The horror movie Queen Mary, based on several ghost stories that are said to have occurred on the famed ocean liner, may finally be ready to leave the dock.

Deadline reports that director Gary Shore (Dracula Untold) has taken command of the film, which is described by them as being "long-in-the-works." Rocket Science is set to fully finance the film, as well as take care of worldwide distribution.

The ship itself still exists — it is permanently docked in Long Beach, California. Part of the licensing deal that has been struck includes shooting the movie onboard the actual ship, which originally launched in 1934. It was created by the same people who created the Titanic, which was, ahem, one of the most unproblematic and danger-free ships ever constructed.

Except...not really. The Queen Mary sees a lot of tourism, with guests all intrigued about the mysteries and legends surrounding her. Here's hoping that the movie based on those legends is successful like the movie Titanic, and doesn't go the way of the Titanic itself.

Is there a better way to close out this roundup than sharing news about the hero known as Captain Underpants? Of course there isn't.

Netflix has announced via press release that the second season of Dreamworks' The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants is set to begin streaming on February 8. The series is based on the books by Dav Pikey, which have sold more than 80 million copies worldwide.

Take a look at a trailer for the new season:

Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings) voices the narrator of the series, with Nat Faxon playing the titular character. Jay Gragnari and Ramone Hamilton are also in the cast, playing best pals George and Harold. Season 2 will find them needing to keep their grades up in order to go to summer camp, but a pair of new additions to their school might get in the way.

Season 2 of DreamWorks' The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants shows its stuff on February 8, exclusively on Netflix.
