Today’s development news offers up some relatively unexpected marriages between properties and cinema running the gamut of genres from horror-thriller to action-racing — but all are utterly odd.

First is the film Angel of Dust, a horror thriller that Deadline reports will be directed by rapper and Wu-Tang Clan leader RZA. This will be the fourth film he's helmed after making his debut with 2012's The Man with the Iron Fists.

With fellow Wu-Tanger Ghostface Killah on board to produce (he also co-wrote the story), the upcoming film will tell a story inspired by “bizarre and horrifying” events occurring to and happening around the musicians as they were growing up. A mysterious death, a seemingly supernatural serial killer, and plenty of rap folklore mean that the film, from a screenplay by Matt Leslie and Stephen J. Smith, will have plenty more to offer genre fans than a killer soundtrack (though it will also have that, courtesy of The Wu-Tang Clan). Rap and horror’s partnership is a longstanding one, so hopefully Angel of Dust will be another great entry.

The next upcoming film’s inspiration is a little smaller. According to Variety, Transformers and The Lego Movie will be adding another toy-based film to their hallowed halls as the fast and furious little cars that could head to the big screen. Yes, a live-action Hot Wheels movie is coming from Mattel and Warner Bros.

This comes after the option held by Legendary and director Justin Lin recently expired and Mattel took back the rights. Warner Bros., which is also doing the Margot Robbie Barbie movie with the toy company, snapped them up. “Hot Wheels has been inspiring the imagination of kids around the world for over 50 years,” said Toby Emmerich, Warner Bros.’ chairman. “We couldn’t be more excited to be bringing the adrenaline, adventure, and excitement of Hot Wheels to the big screen.” Now how many more loops can they fit into a car-chase film before the Fast and Furious franchise throws in the towel?

Finally, Hanna, the Amazon Prime show coming in March that adapts the Saoirse Ronan film, has released a Super Bowl trailer that teases an exciting new development. The end of the ad tells fans that they'll be able to catch the show's first episode a month and change before the show's actual debut - right after the Super Bowl.

Take a look:

The show, about a teen trained to be a super-killer, stars Mireille Enos, Joel Kinnaman, and Esme Creed-Miles as they navigate all the drama involved in teaching a young girl how to best survive an evil government. Hanna makes its full debut in March.
