The Happy Death Day movies were a breath of fresh air to the horror genre because they blended kills and thrills with a time-loop premise that pushed the plot to hilarious, sharp places. Now the writer/director that married those two worlds has a few others in mind for his latest Blumhouse film, Freaky — which dropped its first footage today.

Writer/director Christopher Landon is back with self-aware horror, but now it's also a body-swap movie a la Freaky Friday ... but more like Freaky Friday the 13th, because high schooler Millie (Kathryn Newton) isn't waking up in her mom's body. Rather, it's in the body of local serial killer The Butcher (Vince Vaughn). And vice-versa. Hilarity (and carnage) ensues in the film's first trailer.

A juicy kill and a pair of funny friends yelling lines like "You're black, I'm gay — we are SO dead!" makes this movie look good beyond its already awesome premise. That fans will get to see some inventive, funny, and scary acting from both Newton and Vaughn is just icing. Ancient murder magic, what would we ever do without you?

Poor Millie needs to swap back into her body within 24 hours as the actual killer tears through her high school and all its tropes ... like a very bloody homecoming. The film, co-written by Michael Kennedy, also stars Celeste O’Connor, Misha Osherovich, Alan Ruck, Katie Finneran, and Dana Drori.

Now all that's left is to get Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis to star in a similar movie in those same killer roles. C'mon Blumhouse, we're all waiting.

Freaky hits theaters on Friday, Nov. 13.
