How to Watch

Watch Resident Alien on SYFY and Peacock.

SYFY’s smash hit original series Resident Alien is crash landing back to TV on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 9/8c, and we’re just as excited as you are to return to Patience, Colorado, and see what Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle (Alan Tudyk) has been up to. But, it’s been a year since Season 1 premiered, and we know that our faithful audience might need a little catch-me-up before the second season rolls out.

With that in mind, we have one question for you: Do you have 600(-ish) seconds to spare?

Yep, that’s right. Just 600(-ish) seconds – or, like nine minutes, depending on what measure of time you prefer – is all you need to get caught up on the first season of Resident Alien and prepare yourself for its incoming second installment. Just 600 seconds! That’s, like, 1/5th the length of a regular episode of Resident Alien. And way less of a viewing commitment than the Law & Order marathon that Harry watched to learn how to speak English.

Resident Alien Season 1 Recap in 600(ish) Seconds

In this video, you’ll see all of the major plot points from Season 1. From Harry crash landing in Patience to Max and Sahar’s truce with our favorite alien to Harry’s thrilling escape from Earth, this is the Resident Alien SparkNotes video you didn’t know you needed. Time to study up!

But what’s a recap without some highlights thrown in there for good measure? Resident Alien is a show about learning to be human – and Harry had quite a rocky road in that department. Watch him hilariously try to play a game of pickup basketball with some of his fellow townspeople, where instead of shooting and dribbling, he slaps and runs away. Hey, we never said he was a natural athlete. Just an alien.

We also catch a glimpse of Harry’s wild side, like the night where he goes out on the town with his co-worker nurse, Asta, or the time when he smokes “something” out of a bowling pin (even we’re not sure what that “something” was). And, of course, who could forget the talking octopus (if you know, you know), voiced by sci-fi icon Nathan Fillion?

So if any of that out-of-this-world content intrigues you, be sure to watch the above video and make sure you’re primed and ready for Season 2 of Resident Alien, premiering on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 9/8c. You won’t want to miss it.
