Ryan Reynolds has been pretty busy lately, so we took it upon ourselves to provide a roundup of the most notable genre news about the beloved Deadpool actor.

Welcome, dear reader, to our first-ever "Ryan Reynolds Roundup"!

In a new, yet short, teaser for Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, the titular character, voiced by Reynolds, get just a tad gassy after drinking a bunch of coffee.

Directed by Rob Letterman (Goosebumps), the movie mixes CGI and live-action for a buddy comedy/mystery between a human and a Pokémon. Justice Smith plays Tim Goodman, a once-hopeful Trainer who teams up with a Pikachu only he can understand in order to find his missing father.

Kathryn Newton, Ken Watanabe, Karan Soni, Omar Chaparro, Rita Ora, Suki Waterhouse, Chris Geere, and Rob Delaney are also a part of the cast. Charizard, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Mr. Mime, Jigglypuff, Greninja, and Psyduck are just a few of the Pocket Monsters you can expect to see throughout the story.

The film sleuths its way into theaters May 10.

Like Wade Wilson, Ryan Reynolds doesn't allow himself be phased by limb troubles.

According to Variety, the comedic actor postponed arm surgery in order to fly to Beijing, where Once Upon a Deadpool (a holiday-themed re-cut of Deadpool 2) was making its Chinese debut. The procedure, needed after Reynolds hurt his arm during filming of the sequel, was supposed to take place in New York on Sunday.

“This was more important. I was not going to miss coming to China ... It’s been a dream of mine for years to bring Deadpool to China and Chinese audiences, so for me this is, uh, heaven on earth,” Reynolds said at the premiere.

In the end, Wade Wilson still wins out because he willingly and knowingly sliced off his arm in the first Deadpool movie. Of course, he could do so because it would just regrow thanks to his mutant healing factor. Reynolds, unfortunately, doesn't have the same luxury.

The appearance of Reynolds, a Canadian native, comes at a time when political relations between Canada and China are particularly strained. In December, Huawei Technologies CFO, Meng Wanzhou, was arrested in Vancouver. China allegedly retaliated by arresting two Canadian citizens abroad in the East Asian nation. A third Canadian ex-pat was sentenced to death for smuggling drugs in China's borders.

While the X-Force spinoff movie from Drew Goddard may be dead, it looks like Deadpool 3 is not.

In that same Variety story we mentioned above, the actor's "team" is already chugging away at making a Deadpool trilogy a reality and that they are “looking to go in a completely different direction" because "often, they reboot or change a character maybe like four movies too late.”

It might not be such a bad idea to fold some of the X-Force ideas into the third Deadpool, which could still show Wade fighting crime and traveling through time with his newly-found family: Cable (Josh Brolin), Domino (Zazie Beetz), Dopinder (Karan Soni), Colussus (Stefan Kapičić), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), and Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna).
