The kids of IT share who they want to play them as adults in the sequel

It was one of the biggest box-office surprises of 2017. The horror film, based on Stephen King's massive novel about a group of children fighting an evil supernatural clown named Pennywise, broke all sorts of records, including being the highest-grossing horror film of all time, and the fifth-highest-grossing film of 2017 across all genres.

Naturally, the world is waiting with bated breath for details on the sequel, which takes place when the kids are adults. They return home to Derry to deal with a new spate of child murders and recovered memories of the evil they fought. Warner Bros. has announced that the sequel will hit theaters on September 6, 2019. Presumably, Andy Muschetti will return to direct the sequel.

Muschetti has said that he plans to have the kids back in It: Chapter Two, in the memories the adults have of their childhood in Derry. At a recent press day to promote It on Blu-ray, the kids were all hopeful that they would be back, but nothing definite had been discussed. Sophia Lillis, who played Beverly, had her "fingers crossed" that they would be back. Jeremy Ray Taylor (Ben) said they have "not had much discussion about [showing up in the sequel]," but "we think we are going to be in it a little bit. But honestly, we don't know."

Which brings us to an even more important question: Who will play the kids as adults? We asked; they answered.

Lillis didn't hesitate when she said she wanted Jessica Chastain to portray Beverly as an adult. Chastain herself has expressed interest in taking the role, but obviously nothing is set in stone. Taylor sees Ben being played by Chris Pratt. Jaden Lieberher wants to see James McAvoy play the adult version of Bill, while Wyatt Oleff thinks Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be a "good pick" to portray Stan as an adult.

Jackson Robert Scott won't have an adult version of him in Chapter Two. As Georgie, he was killed in Chapter One, with no chance of growing up. But Scott remains hopeful: "I might come back to haunt Bill in his adult form. You never know!"

It is available as a digital download as well as on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. The discs include 11 deleted or extended scenes and featurettes that show how Bill Skarsgard prepared to play Pennywise; Stephen King discussing his novel; and how the kids bonded during the production.
