Coulson, and even Carol's cat, get their own posters in new look at Captain Marvel

Nick Fury Samuel L. Jackson Captain Marvel

Remember the cat that young, two-eyed Nick Fury (a de-aged Samuel L. Jackson) was obssessed with in the second trailer for Captain Marvel?

Well, the feline was important enough to warrant its very own character poster, one of 10 unveiled by Marvel today to mark the fact that there are only 50 more days until the movie's wide theatrical release.

In addition to Goose (that's the cat's name, a little nod to Top Gun and Carol's time spent in the Air Force), there are posters for Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), Fury, Phil Coulson (a de-aged Clark Gregg), Mar-Vell (Jude Law), Minn-Erva (Gemma Chan), Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch), the unnamed Kree scientist that saved Carol's life (Annette Benning), and Korath (Djimon Hounsou).

Most interestingly, we see Korath in the green uniform of Starforce, the elite paramilitary team established by the Kree Empire. We first met the character in Guardians of the Galaxy where he was an emissary of Thanos, dispatched to find an Infinity Stone. Hopefully, Captain Marvel explains how he turned to the dark side.

Another familiar face will be Lee Pace's Ronan the Accuser, but for some reason he did not receive his own character poster.

Check out all the new posters in the tweets below:

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Mississippi Grind), this will be the first Marvel Studios film to: 1) be helmed by a female director 2) feature a female superhero as its central character and 3) be scored by a woman, Pinar Toprak.

Boden and Fleck also contributed to the screenplay with Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Tomb Raider) and Jac Schaeffer (Marvel's upcoming Black Widow movie). Set in the 1990s before the MCU as we all know it, the feature will explain things like how Fury knew to call Carol at the end of Avengers: Infinity War and how he lost his eye.

Captain Marvel opens in theaters everywhere March 8.
