IDW Publishing's partnership with Marvel to create crossover Young Adult comics centered around the House of Idea's largest crime-fighting celebrities like Spider-Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Thor, Iron-Man, The Hulk, Hawkeye, and Black Panther is off to a roaring start, with Marvel Action Spider-Man #1 and Marvel Action Avengers #1 already launching in late 2018.

Now the cat-like African crusader has scored his own solo title as readers of all ages are introduced to the advanced techno-science nation of Wakanda in next month's Marvel Action Black Panther #1, and SYFY WIRE has a sleek peek at the first awesome art and covers.

Marching in the clawed footsteps of its mighty monarch, fans will join the Black Panther, King T'Challa, as he defends his people (and the planet) from villains and threats of all flavors with assistance from his sassy sister, Shuri.

Written by multiple Eisner and Harvey Award winner Kyle Baker and matched with art by Baker and Juan Samu (Back to the Future), Black Panther #1 is targeted at a younger fandom but it's no less entertaining for us geeks of a more "mature" age.  And with Baker at the helm this tantalizing title appears to have a tremendous amount of pre-release appeal.

IDW Group Editor Denton Tipton is thrilled to present this action-oriented addition to the Black Panther legacy and hopes readers take a swipe at it when it appears in comic shops next month.

"It still seems like a dream to be working on a Black Panther comic with the legendary Kyle Baker," Tipton tells SYFY WIRE. "His scripts both hilarious and sincere, but above all, a ton of fun. I can't wait until we can share it with the world. Wakanda forever!"
