It's morning in America in The Handmaid's Tale Season 3 trailer

The new trailer for Season 3 of The Handmaid's Tale offered a stern warning to its Super Bowl audience: Wake up, America.

The trailer for Season 3 of Hulu's adaptation of Margaret Atwood's 1985 novel dropped tonight, which follows Offred as she delves even further into the living nightmare that is Gilead. Things started innocently enough, with a velvet-voiced narrator speaking about it being "morning in America." Then things get dark, which you can see for yourself.

While Elisabeth Moss' lead character elected to stay behind in the Season 2 finale, showrunner Bruce Miller teased that the upcoming third season will be about "fighting back." And this first look is rather ... intense.

The big-budget dystopian series has proven to be a worthy investment for Hulu, which has helped them push past the 25 million subscriber mark, along with the Stephen King meta-adaptation Castle Rock.

There's still no official word on the premiere date, but here's hoping it comes sooner before later.
