TV THIS WEEK: Dune debuts, Locke & Key S2, Girl in the Woods; Chucky and Day of the Dead on SYFY & more

By Trent Moore
Dune official still HBO Max WB

The war for spice is about to ramp up — not to mention a war for magical keys and more than a few terrifying tales with killer dolls, killer zombies and monsters.

The latest big release from Warner Bros. hits this week in theaters and on streaming, so look for Dune to be lighting up HBO Max this weekend. Netflix has Season 2 of Locke & Key, and Peacock has the first season of its Buffy-esque new series The Girl in the Woods dropping just in time for a good pre-Halloween binge session.

SYFY's schedule is full of scary good stuff this week, led by new episodes of Chucky and Day of the Dead. Peacock has a new Lost Symbol, HBO Max has new installments of Titans and Doom Patrol, and NBC has a fresh episode of its hit sci-fi survival disaster thriller La Brea. The CW's superhero slate is also fully loaded, with new episodes of DC's Legends of Tomorrow (with the team still stranded in the 1920s), plus Batwoman, Supergirl and Stargirl.

If you're looking for even more zombies, AMC's The Walking Dead franchise is going strong, even with the flagship series on hiatus, with new episodes of Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead; World Beyond. If you're into the Apple TV+ sci-fi fare, Foundation is new this week.

Check out the full rundown below and let us know what you'll be watching.
