Adrianne Palicki misses playing Mockingbird — so much so that she's putting the word out that she'd love a Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. encore.

While making the publicity rounds for Season 2 of The Orville, the 35-year-old actress opened up about Marvel's Most Wanted, the scrapped S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot that Marvel made following the continuing adventures of Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird and her ex-spouse and partner Lance Hunter, played by Nick Blood.

"I saw the pilot. It was actually really, really good. It was a little darker, grittier," Palicki told TV Line.

ABC ultimately opted to pass on a Most Wanted series despite the fact that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. reached a creative and critical peak with Palicki and Blood's addition to the cast in its second season.

But Palicki revealed just what was in store for the on-again, off-again duo once they became fugitives and teamed up with a rogue adventurer named Dominic Fortune (Delroy Lindo).

"We were mercenaries, yeah. It's kind of an extension of what we were dealing with before, where we, like, ended up trying to get married again and all hell breaks loose because people are after us," she added. "Ultimately, it's us just kind of fighting for our lives."

As for a S.H.I.E.L.D. return, Palicki expressed enthusiasm, especially since both Bobbi and Lance were written out of the show to set up the new series and Blood has already made his return last season.

"Listen, if they ask me to come back, I would absolutely come back. I was like, 'Nick came back for a [Season 5 episode] – what the hell, guys?" she noted with a twinge of jealousy.

In the meantime, Palicki is keeping plenty busy with her Fox sci-fi comedy hit, The Orville, in which she plays Commander Kelly Grayson opposite on-screen hubby Seth MacFarlane's Captain Ed Mercer. The Orville premiered last Sunday and will continue to air at its regularly appointed time on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
