'Teen Wolf: The Movie' announces cast… but some familiar names are missing

A lot of names from the television show are on there, but some notable actors aren't.

We’ve known about the Paramount+ Teen Wolf revival movie since September 2021, but we haven’t had many details so far other than it will take place several years after the MTV Entertainment television series; that show creator Jeff Davis is involved; and that Tyler Posey will be back playing no-longer-a-teen werewolf, Scott McCall.

We now have more casting news, thanks to today's action-packed ViacomCBS Investors Event. Among all the Star Trek, Transformers, and TMNT headlines, Paramount+ also released a cast list for Teen Wolf: The Movie that includes many familiar names from the series that ran for six seasons on MTV.

In addition to Posey, Holland Roden (Lydia Martin), Shelley Hennig (Malia), Crystal Reed (Allison Argent), Orny Adams (Coach Bobby Finstock), Linden Ashby (Sheriff Noah Stilinski), JR Bourne (Chris Argent), Seth Gilliam (Dr. Alan Deaton), Colton Haynes (Jackson Whittemore), Ryan Kelley (Deputy Jordan Parrish), Melissa Ponzio (Melissa McCall), and Dylan Sprayberry (Liam Dunbar) will all make appearances in the film.

This is a long list, but it doesn’t include some significant cast members from the series. Dylan O’Brien (Stiles), for example, is not on the list, along with Arden Cho (Kira), and Tyler Hoechlin (Derek), who is currently playing Clark Kent/Superman on The CW’s Superman & Lois

This cast list isn’t complete or final, of course, and the omitted actors may still make an appearance in the upcoming film or be announced closer to the film's release date, which will be sometime later this year. And while we patiently wait for more fun times with banshees, werecoyotes, hellhounds, and kitsunes, we can relive Scott's high school years by watching the original series on Paramount+.
