N0S4A2 : It's an awkward father/daughter reunion in our exclusive "Welcome to Christmasland" clip

By Tara Bennett

After last week's Vic McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings) centric episode of NOS4A2, the penultimate episode of Season 2 swings back to the very complicated father/daughter relationship between Charlie (Zachary Quinto) and Millie Manx (Mattea Conforti).

In a season that's explored the complexities and long-lasting trauma of bad parenting for all of the main characters, it's no surprise that even Charlie Manx has to pay the proverbial piper when it comes to his villainous daughter.

In episode 7, "Cripple Creek," Charlie's deeply troubling childhood was laid out. It explained the origins of Christmasland and how, and why, Charlie learned his terrifying skills of grooming and manipulation. Despite having a tight leash on Millie throughout Season 1, she's since gotten the taste of the outside world. And now, she's giving off some hardcore "I want to be a real girl" vibes that are clearly unsettling for dear 'ole dad.

In "Welcome to Christmasland," Charlie and Millie are back together in Christmasland, and all of that angst is coming out front and center in SYFY WIRE's exclusive sneak peek at the episode:

In our Comic-Con@Home coverage in July, the N0S4A2 panel with showrunner Jami O'Brien alluded to this confrontation coming. Since Millie is a much expanded character from how she's featured in Joe Hill's novel, O'Brien says she wanted to show that, "[Millie's] internal struggle has led to her questioning her choice to being such a daddy's girl."

Because the show is leaning into new narrative territory, how it all works out remains to be seen in these final two episodes of the season.

New episodes of NOS4A2 air Sunday nights on AMC.
