Jason Momoa 'stands with Ray Fisher' as the Cyborg actor's WB battle rages on

Jason Momoa has become the first member of the principal Justice League cast to acknowledge Ray Fisher's ongoing battle with Warner Bros. "#IStandWithRayFisher," the Aquaman star wrote below a picture of the Cyborg actor in an Instagram story from yesterday. Until now, Fisher has been weathering the storm alone as he attempts to prove "abusive" conduct on the part of the studio, Joss Whedon (who handled extensive reshoots on Justice League after Zack Snyder left over a family tragedy), and producers Geoff Johns and Jon Berg.

Momoa is set to reprise his role as Arthur Curry in Aquaman 2 (slated for release in December 2022). James Wan is returning as director.

As the Cyborg controversy began to take shape, Berg released an official statement, saying that his only recollection of Fisher being unhappy on-set was when they asked him to say Cyborg's famous catchphrase: "Booyah." Things only began to escalate from there as Fisher (appearing at Justice Con in late July) said of Whedon: "The man is probably scared, and he should be, because we are going to get to the heart of everything — everything — that went down."

Less than a month ago, the actor claimed on Twitter that Johns "made a thinly veiled threat to my career." In late August, WarnerMedia launched a formal investigation to find out whether inappropriate workplace behavior had taken place. This past weekend, Warner Bros. released its take on the matter, alleging that "Mr. Fisher has declined to speak to the investigator." The actor, who also asserted that the president of DC Films personally asked him to lay off Johns, hit back with: "@wbpictures has escalated this to an entirely different level, but I’m ready to meet the challenge."

If Fisher can find common ground with the studio, he may return to play Victor Stone in director Andy Muschietti's solo Flash movie, which is set for release in the summer of 2022. Production is expected to kick off in early 2021.
